Car key replacement
Lost every key and no spare? We cut and program a new one at the roadside for most makes from 2005 onwards — no tow, no dealership appointment.

Affordable Auto Locksmith is an MLA-approved, fully insured mobile locksmith serving Crawley, Gatwick, Horley, Horsham and every town in between — at the roadside, on your driveway, or in the airport car park.

Since 2014 our owner-run shop on Manor Royal has cut, coded and programmed keys for drivers across Crawley and the Surrey/Sussex border. When you ring, you reach our dispatcher here — not a national lead broker — and the technician who arrives is a DBS-checked employee in a fully stocked mobile unit.
We carry OEM and aftermarket blanks for domestic, European and Asian vehicles, plus the diagnostic kit to originate keys for current push-to-start models right at the kerb.
Fixed-price quotes given before we start. Same-day availability across Crawley and the surrounding towns.
Lost every key and no spare? We cut and program a new one at the roadside for most makes from 2005 onwards — no tow, no dealership appointment.
Keys locked inside, engine running, or shut in the boot. Opened without a scratch — usually inside ten minutes of arriving.
Remote and keyless fobs paired to your car’s immobiliser. Bought your own fob online? We’ll program it — and tell you before you pay if it’s the wrong part number.
Chipped blade keys coded to your immobiliser on site. The commonest job on UK cars built between 1998 and 2015.
When the OBD port won’t give up the code, we read the immobiliser chip directly. This is the work that separates an auto locksmith from a key cutter.
Key won’t turn, spins freely, or the barrel has worn out. Repaired or rebuilt at the car rather than replaced at main-dealer prices.
Snapped in the door, boot or ignition. Extracted without damaging the lock, and a replacement cut on the spot.
Door locks, boot locks and barrels — repaired, re-keyed or replaced, including after an attempted break-in.
The cheapest key you will ever buy is the one cut while the original still works. Book it for a weekday and pay the lowest rate we charge.
Transit, Transporter, Sprinter and Vivaro keys cut on site, plus deadlocks, slam locks and fleet re-keys. Net-30 accounts for 5+ vehicles.
Mobile units work out of Crawley, so someone is always close. If your town is not listed, ring anyway — we probably still reach you, and we quote the mileage honestly first.
From a 1998 Transit to a current push-to-start EV — including high-security laser-cut, transponder and proximity systems.

Our base sits minutes from the M23, our vans are lettered and our technicians carry ID. We know which County Mall decks have no signal, which Gatwick car parks need a permit, and how long the A23 really takes at five o’clock — so the ETA we give you is the one we hit.

A real Crawley dispatcher every hour of every day — never an answering service.
Vans staged across the area, so help is usually already nearby when you ring.
The price you hear on the phone is the price you pay. No night or weekend surcharge.
Inspected, vetted and DBS-checked technicians in marked vans, carrying £2m liability cover.
Every key, fob and ignition we fit is warranted for a year, parts and labour, on the receipt.
Build note: the three cards below are sample copy so the layout can be judged. Replace with genuine Google reviews before launch — no review structured data is emitted while this notice shows.
Sample reviewQuoted £220 on the phone at 11pm and paid £220 at 11:40. Cut a new keyless fob on my driveway in Maidenbower while the kettle boiled. The dealer wanted £430 and a recovery truck.
Sample reviewBaby asleep in the back, keys on the seat, multi-storey at County Mall. Said 25 minutes, arrived in 18. Door open in under two, no damage and no lecture about it.
Sample reviewTook two visits because my ignition needed a part they did not carry. No extra charge for coming back out, which I appreciated.
Around 27 minutes on average across Crawley and the RH10/RH11 postcodes. Town centre, Three Bridges and Manor Royal are usually quicker; Gatwick and the outer villages run a little longer. You get a live ETA by text once a technician is assigned.
Yes — that is a large share of what we do. We cut to your VIN and program the new key to the immobiliser at the roadside. You will need photo ID and the V5C logbook: we are required to verify ownership and we will not skip it.
Usually 30–50% less, and there is no recovery bill on top because we come to the car. Where the dealer genuinely is the better option — a handful of very new models need factory-only tooling — we will tell you on the phone rather than on your driveway.
No. The same price applies at 3am on a Sunday as at 3pm on a Tuesday, and there is no call-out fee anywhere in the inner coverage ring.
The figure quoted on the phone is the figure on the invoice — call-out, cutting, programming and VAT included. If it changes on site, you do not pay.
Daily. Lost keys on the way back from a flight are one of the most common jobs we get, and we work in the long-stay and short-stay car parks as well as the surrounding hotels.

Dealer versus auto locksmith, broken down by key type — and why an all-keys-lost job costs more than cutting a spare.
